5 Tips to Get the Best Wedding Content on Your Big Day
Your wedding day will go by in the blink of an eye – and having it documented so that you can relive all those emotional, joy-filled moments is extremely important. As a wedding content creator on the Sunshine Coast, my role is to capture the candid, behind-the-scenes magic of your day – the moments you’ll want to look back on, and the ones you might’ve missed in the whirlwind.
Here are 5 simple but powerful tips to help you get the most out of your wedding day content, so that it’s not just your new spouse that you’re in love with, but your photos and videos too!
1. Be Present, Not Perfect
This is an important day in your lives – not just a photoshoot. The best wedding content happens when you’re simply living in the moment. Don’t worry about posing or looking “camera-ready” all the time – just enjoy the moments as they happen - laugh, cry, dance, get merry - I’ll capture the natural beauty and fun of your day as it unfolds. Some of the most treasured moments are the unplanned ones.
2. Share the Schedule
To make sure I don’t miss a thing, please share your detailed run sheet with me before the big day. Are you planning a private vow reading? Confetti? A garter toss? A surprise performance? As your wedding content creator, I’ll be right there – but knowing what’s coming helps me to plan ahead and be in the perfect spot at the right time.
3. Don’t Forget Your Lighting
One of the most overlooked (but important!) parts of planning your wedding is the lighting. The right lighting sets the mood, highlights all your beautiful styling details, and makes a huge difference in how your photos and videos turn out. Whether it’s soft fairy lights, romantic candles, or natural light for your ceremony, taking a little time to plan your lighting can really elevate the whole vibe of your day — and your content will thank you for it!
4. Let People Know
Letting your bridal party, family, and close friends know you’ve booked a wedding content creator helps everyone relax and enjoy the process. They’ll be more open to engaging naturally on camera, and it avoids any confusion about who I am or what I’m doing.
5. Trust the Process
When you book me, you’re getting more than just pretty videos - although I do that too! You’re getting someone who’s there to tell your story, to notice the little things, and to capture the full energy of your celebration. I’ll move quietly in the background, always ready with my iPhone (or actually 2, because I never want to miss a moment!), picking up the magic as it happens. All you have to do is enjoy your day.
Bonus Tip: Have Fun With It
The best wedding content comes from joy – real, unfiltered happiness. The laughter, the tears, the stolen kisses, the chaotic dance moves – that’s what you’ll want to remember. Be yourselves, love hard, get lively and let me capture it all.
