When Sheri and Marshall began planning Sheri’s 50th birthday celebration, they had no idea just how unforgettable it would become - for themselves and for everyone they love.

Together for 11 wonderful years and proud parents to their sweet 8-year-old son, Jesse, Sheri and Marshall decided to take advantage of having their closest family and friends together. Their plan? To surprise everyone with a wedding at Sheri’s birthday party!

“From the moment you walked up my driveway for our first date, I knew my heart belonged to you. I knew I had found my soul mate.”

But, in an unexpected turn of events, just weeks before the big day, the couple found themselves facing a surprise of their own. In the midst of final preparations, they discovered that Marshall’s divorce - which they believed had been finalised 14 years earlier - had never actually been completed. In their effort to surprise their guests, it turned out that Sheri and Marshall were the ones caught off guard!

After a whirlwind of phone calls, paperwork, and a fair bit of stress, Marshall’s divorce was officially finalised - just days before the party. With everything finally in place, the stage was set for the most magical and heartfelt celebration.

Travelling from their home near Brisbane, Sheri and Marshall chose the stunning Sunshine Coast as the backdrop for their special day. Overlooking the water, the couple exchanged vows in an emotional and joy-filled ceremony as the sun set, surrounded by all the people who mean the most to them.

There were so many beautiful moments throughout the evening, but a few highlights stood out:
✨ Sheri's incredible surprise outfit change - from a dazzling green party dress to a breathtaking bridal gown.
✨ Little Jesse’s heartwarming speech, where he told his mum how beautiful she looked (and cheekily added that his dad “didn't look too bad either” - cue the laughter!).
✨ The sweet transition from birthday celebration to wedding reception, when Sheri swapped out her birthday cake topper for a new one celebrating the newlyweds.

From start to finish, Sheri and Marshall’s day was filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of surprises - the best kind of memories to last a lifetime.

Congratulations, Sheri and Marshall!
